People experiencing homelessness, and those at risk of homelessness are among Australia’s most socially and economically disadvantaged. Governments across Australia fund services to support people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness. These services - our partners - work to advocate for safe and secure housing for their clients. Many clients who are housed, come to their new home with nothing. A household set up for even the most basic items and cheapest items can cost up to $3000, money that most people in this position do not have and cannot borrow.
This is where Designing Futures saw a need that could be filled. By offering these clients access to quality goods and furniture, through the generous donations of individuals and businesses, they are able to create a home with dignity and pride.
